Firmware

Firmware Steps:

Step 1: Download New Firmware
  • Click the link to 22IDEX Firmware Download.
  • Save the file to an easily accessible location on your computer.
Step 2: Backup Current Firmware
  1. Power off the machine by unplugging the power cable.
  2. Eject the SD card from the Duet 2 board.
  3. Connect the SD card to your computer using a card reader.
  4. Copy all files from the SD card to a dedicated backup folder. This will preserve your current settings.
Step 3: Transfer Essential Parameters
  1. Navigate to sys -> essentials -> ProbeOffset.g
    tooloffset.g
    uoffset.g
    yoffset.g
    wifimode.g
    zoffset.g
  2. Move (copy & replace) these files to the “user” folder in the new firmware directory.
Step 4: Re-insert SD Card and Power On
  1. Safely remove the SD card from your computer.
  2. Reinsert it into the Duet 2 board on your 22IDEX.
  3. Plug in the power cable to turn on the machine.
Step 5: Execute Firmware Update
  1. Open the 22IDEX Web Interface in a browser.
  2. Enter the command: “M997S0:1” to start the update.
  3. The update takes about 1-2 minutes. Do not turn off the power or press the E-Stop during this time.
  4. When done, the machine will restart. Successful updates show white LEDs, then red LEDs after about 30 seconds.
Step 6: Wi-Fi Configuration
  • Connect to “22IDEX” Wi-Fi (Password: “1234567890”).
  • Enter “192.168.0.1” in your browser to access the Web Interface.
  • To connect to your local Wi-Fi, go to: Dashboard -> Macros -> System -> Setting -> WiFi -> “Connect to my WiFi Network” and follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 7: Final Verification

Z-Probe Holder Position:

  • Navigate to: Dashboard -> Macros -> System -> Calibration -> Z Probe -> Rotate holder to set degree.
  • Ensure the Z-Probe holder is horizontal in the pickup position.
  • Adjust using “Adjust pickup angle CCW” or “Adjust pickup angle CW” if necessary.

Verify by pressing “Place the probe” and “Pick the probe”

Z-Offset Calibration:

  • Go to: Dashboard -> Macros.
  • Select “Z-Offset Calibration” and follow the instructions.
Additional Printer Calibration:
  1. Start printing immediately if using only the left nozzle.
  2. For mirror or duplicate mode: Dashboard -> Macros -> System -> Calibration -> Tool Alignment -> Auto Tool Height Calibration (Mirror & Duplicate modes).
  3. For dual color/multi-material prints: After the above, Dashboard -> Macros -> System -> Calibration -> Tool Alignment -> Auto XY Tool Alignment with a Probe (Multi Material). Validate using the “XY – Alignment Test.3mf” file from Dashboard -> Jobs.
Step 8: Configuring a Slicer
  1. Download the latest slicer version for your OS and install.
  2. Get the 22IDEX configuration files at: Dashboard -> Jobs -> PrusaSlicer_config_bundle.ini.
  3. Open the slicer: File -> Import -> Import Config Bundle -> Select the downloaded file.
  4. Activate expert setting mode.
  5. Choose “printer settings” -> “22IDEX Standard mode.”
  6. Click “open physical printer” (small gear icon, top left).
  7. Enter your machine’s IP, ensuring “Host type” is “Duet” to allow wireless slicer to machine connection.
  8. Click “Test” and, once verified, “OK” -> “Save Preset.”

Updating your firmware: (SIMPLE)
  1. Remove SD card from Duet2 motherboard
  2. Download SD card contents to PC, as a backup of original files
  3. Download latest firmware, and extract to your PC
  4. Delete all contents of SD card
  5. Copy all new firmware files over to the SD card
  6. Reinstall SD card into Duet2 motherboard
  7. Go to the Console Command screen
  8. Type: M997 S0:1:2 and click Send
  9. Wait about 3 minutes for everything to reboot, DO NOT POWER OFF THE MACHINE
  10. Perform the macro “Adjust XY – Pickup Position” under Macros>System>Calibration>Z-Probe
  11. Home the machine
  12. Start printing!
