Firmware Steps:
Step 1: Download New Firmware
- Click the link to 22IDEX Firmware Download.
- Save the file to an easily accessible location on your computer.
Step 2: Backup Current Firmware
- Power off the machine by unplugging the power cable.
- Eject the SD card from the Duet 2 board.
- Connect the SD card to your computer using a card reader.
- Copy all files from the SD card to a dedicated backup folder. This will preserve your current settings.
Step 3: Transfer Essential Parameters
- Navigate to sys -> essentials -> ProbeOffset.g
tooloffset.g
uoffset.g
yoffset.g
wifimode.g
zoffset.g - Move (copy & replace) these files to the “user” folder in the new firmware directory.
Step 4: Re-insert SD Card and Power On
- Safely remove the SD card from your computer.
- Reinsert it into the Duet 2 board on your 22IDEX.
- Plug in the power cable to turn on the machine.
Step 5: Execute Firmware Update
- Open the 22IDEX Web Interface in a browser.
- Enter the command: “M997S0:1” to start the update.
- The update takes about 1-2 minutes. Do not turn off the power or press the E-Stop during this time.
- When done, the machine will restart. Successful updates show white LEDs, then red LEDs after about 30 seconds.
Step 6: Wi-Fi Configuration
- Connect to “22IDEX” Wi-Fi (Password: “1234567890”).
- Enter “192.168.0.1” in your browser to access the Web Interface.
- To connect to your local Wi-Fi, go to: Dashboard -> Macros -> System -> Setting -> WiFi -> “Connect to my WiFi Network” and follow the on-screen instructions.
Step 7: Final Verification
Z-Probe Holder Position:
- Navigate to: Dashboard -> Macros -> System -> Calibration -> Z Probe -> Rotate holder to set degree.
- Ensure the Z-Probe holder is horizontal in the pickup position.
- Adjust using “Adjust pickup angle CCW” or “Adjust pickup angle CW” if necessary.
Verify by pressing “Place the probe” and “Pick the probe”
Z-Offset Calibration:
- Go to: Dashboard -> Macros.
- Select “Z-Offset Calibration” and follow the instructions.
Additional Printer Calibration:
- Start printing immediately if using only the left nozzle.
- For mirror or duplicate mode: Dashboard -> Macros -> System -> Calibration -> Tool Alignment -> Auto Tool Height Calibration (Mirror & Duplicate modes).
- For dual color/multi-material prints: After the above, Dashboard -> Macros -> System -> Calibration -> Tool Alignment -> Auto XY Tool Alignment with a Probe (Multi Material). Validate using the “XY – Alignment Test.3mf” file from Dashboard -> Jobs.
Step 8: Configuring a Slicer
- Download the latest slicer version for your OS and install.
- Get the 22IDEX configuration files at: Dashboard -> Jobs -> PrusaSlicer_config_bundle.ini.
- Open the slicer: File -> Import -> Import Config Bundle -> Select the downloaded file.
- Activate expert setting mode.
- Choose “printer settings” -> “22IDEX Standard mode.”
- Click “open physical printer” (small gear icon, top left).
- Enter your machine’s IP, ensuring “Host type” is “Duet” to allow wireless slicer to machine connection.
- Click “Test” and, once verified, “OK” -> “Save Preset.”

Updating your firmware: (SIMPLE)
- Remove SD card from Duet2 motherboard
- Download SD card contents to PC, as a backup of original files
- Download latest firmware, and extract to your PC
- Delete all contents of SD card
- Copy all new firmware files over to the SD card
- Reinstall SD card into Duet2 motherboard
- Go to the Console Command screen
- Type: M997 S0:1:2 and click Send
- Wait about 3 minutes for everything to reboot, DO NOT POWER OFF THE MACHINE
- Perform the macro “Adjust XY – Pickup Position” under Macros>System>Calibration>Z-Probe
- Home the machine
- Start printing!
